Cryptkeepercore, also known as ouijacore, is an aesthetic that takes inspiration from Cottagegore and coffinwood. Like cottagegore, there is a heavy focus on simplistic homely living within nature. However, rather than a cottage, the dwelling would be more along the lines of a craftman's house or an old haunted house within a woodland or rural setting as well as a haunted apartment. It has other similarities to craft and creative aesthetics as some of the hobbies do include a lot of creative expression. The fashion is mostly made up of vintage elements along with Psychobilly influences. Unlike cottagegore being hyperfeminine and Coffinwood being masculine, Cryptkeepercore instead focuses on androgyny.
Decor within the home includes that of taxidermy, horror, and other spooky things along with various collections as well as with plants that are unusual or often overlooked.
The other main focus of Cryptkeepercore is about exploring haunted locations or mysterious locations that have urban legends, exploring nature and taking inspiration from your surroundings for drawing, writing, and even scrapbooking.
The queer aspect comes from an online quote that reads, "I am not a cottagecore lesbian; I am a haunted house bisexual.", which inspired the making of Cryptkeepercore (but queerness is not what defines it).
