What do you get when you combine a mysterious flair with a bit of captivation and a few key motifs within horror? You get the Mimic aesthetic which could be potentially named and inspired by the Roblox game of the same name.

Elements[]

Skulls
The skeletal bones, more specifically skulls, are one of, if not the central element, mostly appearing in artworks or jewellery. In the original owner's words, they symbolize mortality and the mystifying line between life and death.
Katana (かたな)
This infamous type of Japanese sword contributes a sense of power, precision and danger while also having an elegant, refined touch.
Blood
Powered by feelings of intensity, passion and sacrifice, blood motifs are another elemental key factor that can be used in various types of context.
Spiders
In this aesthetic, the iconic arachnids are commonly seen carefully crafting their delicate webs all while being associated with their striking appearance, dark symbolism and our (the humans') fear of getting attacked by them.
Japanese horror stories
It's no wonder that the terrifying tales and urban legends of Japan play a massive role in this aesthetic, evoking the feelings of dread through things such as yokai, ghosts and haunted/abandoned places.
Mazes
Adding senses of mystique, mazes/labyrinths represent the idea of being lost in one's emotions or thoughts.
Pink hats
Playful and fancy hats, particularly ones that are pink, symbolize a sense of individuality and standing out among the surrounding shadows. It may be rumoured that this was directly inspired by the urban legend, Hasshaku-sama, since one of her exterior traits is usually wearing a hat or some other accessory on her head even if she is 240cm (8-shaku) tall.

Fashion[]

The Mimic aesthetic's fashion combines elegance and edge with skull or blood-themed accessories and a pair of katana swords contrasted with the occasional pink hat or two.

Activities[]

Those embraced within may choose to experience the aforementioned haunted properties, venturing into the unknown, reading or listening to eerie stories and simply incorporating the aesthetic itself into their daily lives.
